Jarvis Conservatory presents Mikhail Glinka’s opera Ruslan and Lyudmila performed by the Kirov Opera and recorded live from the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg (Russia!). This is a rare opportunity to see Glinka’s masterpiece in its entirety in a production that brought together conductor Valery Gergiev, producer Lotfi Mansouri and stage designer Thierry Bosquet.

The staging, though new, is a meticulous recreation of a historic original from the height of Russia’s pre-Revolutionary Golden Age. The cast features some of Russia’s finest singers, including Galina Gorchakova, Larissa Diadkova, Yuri Marusin and Anna Netrebko.
