NVFF - Celebrity Tributes

The Napa Valley Film Festival (November 13-17, 2013) is an indulgent celebration of film, food and wine during Napa Valley’s most colorful time of year.

This year the festival is proud to honor these talented artists by paying tribute to their creative achievements. Hosted by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush.

nvff_johnleeHancock_2013Director tribute goes to established Director John Lee Hancock, who encompasses a rare and distinctive voice in cinematic story-telling. His work as writer and director on The Blind Side led to two Oscar nominations (Best Picture, Best Actress).

John’s current feature film is Saving Mr. Banks, playing at this year’s Napa Valley Film Festival and starring an impressive ensemble cast. Previous film credits include: The Alamo, The Rookie, My Dog Skip, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and A Perfect World. His upcoming projects consist of: The American Can and Goree Girls. On top of his ongoing writing and directing work, John also serves as an advisor for the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriting Lab. nvff_colinFarrell_2013

Who better to receive the Spotlight Tribute than Colin Farrell. His film presence has been filled with unforgettable roles that vary from an inwardly tormented hit man, to an adventurous explorer, a determined-but-failing writer, and the greatest military leader in history.

Colin recently wrapped the film adaptation of Miss Julie starring opposite Jessica Chastain and directed by Liv Ullmann. He was just seen in Total Recall, The Way Back, Horrible Bosses, and in fall of 2014 Winter’s Tale.

nvff_diannaAgron_2013This year’s rising star honorees include Dianna Agron, a versatile and sought after talented young actress also known as Quinn Fabray on Fox’s hit television series Glee. Agron starred in I Am Number Four in 2011 and will next be seen in Luc Besson’s The Family. nvff_milesMiller_2013

Another young and gifted actor is Miles Teller, who made his feature screen debut opposite Nicole Kidman in the film based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Rabbit Hole.
