The Napa Valley College Chorale and Men’s and Women’s Chorales will serve up an afternoon of dueling pianos and youthful romanticism on the main stage at Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center.
The Men’s Chorale will open the afternoon with Solstice, a lively Native American piece by Tim Sarsany. Expressing a desperate longing for the restoration of the past, this contemporary piece is expressed with a dance by a select group of Napa Valley College Dance students with choreography and direction from Marci Sanchez.
The Women’s Chorale then take the stage to feature a world premiere piece written by Mazdak Khamda, one of Napa Valley College Music Department instructors. Four Pieces includes “The Road,” “Rescue Me,” “Rains of Sorrow,” and “The Gift.”
Next on the program will be a combination of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance and Hungarian Dances by Brahms, featuring pianists Osten and Flesher.
