Jarvis Conservatory Youth Symphony’s Sinfonia


Napa Valley Youth Symphony’s (NVYS) Sinfonia and Wind Sinfonia ensembles will present their opening concert at Jarvis Conservatory in Napa. A reception provided by the parents and the musicians will follow the performance.

Sinfonia directors Christina Knudson, Robin May and Debbie Walden join their teaching talents from across the Bay Area for weekly rehearsals at Salvador Elementary School and are excited to present the two ensembles for their first concert of the season at the Jarvis Conservatory.

The String Sinfonia’s program will feature music from Germany, France, the United States of America and the Czech Republic. The two ensembles will join together to perform one selection especially arranged by Wind Sinfonia director Robin May:

Sinfonia program:

• Canon in C Major by M. McLeanarr
• Old French Dance: Le Basque by Marin Marais
• Dill Pickle Rag by Charles Johnson

Combined Sinfonias Program:

• Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss

Wind Sinfonia program:

• The Medallion - Calls for three flutes from Pirates of the Caribbean by Klaus Badelt
• Rondeau for three trumpets and horn by Jean-Joseph Mouret
• Philippine Folk Song (traditional)
